In November 2022, Adrian Weston, then aged 37, of Haydon End, Swindon, was sentenced at Swindon Crown Court to 42 months in prison after pleading guilty to multiple child protection and digital image charges.
The court heard details regarding a Wiltshire Police investigation that began in the summer of 2021. Officers arrested Weston and seized his electronic devices, uncovering more than 300 Category A indecent images of children depicting severe abuse.
While released under investigation, Weston engaged online with an undercover police officer posing as a man with an 11-year-old step-daughter. Weston encouraged the officer to sexually assault the child while she slept and transmit video recordings of the attack to him.
On 4 November 2022, Weston appeared at Swindon Crown Court and entered guilty pleas to arranging or facilitating the commission of a child sex offence, three counts of making indecent photographs of a child, possessing a prohibited image, distributing an indecent photo, two counts of attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child, and possessing extreme pornographic material.
The judge handed Weston a 42-month custodial sentence and issued an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order, with all case details catalogued on the UK Register Database for public record transparency.
