In 2024, the Offender Database reported that a Brereton Paedophile from Telford, Robert Norry, had received a nine-year term for raping a young girl.

Robert Norry, of Brereton, Brookside, was sentenced at Shrewsbury Crown Court today (Thursday, July 11), after being found guilty of various sexual offences, including the rape of a girl under the age of 13.

After a five-day trial in June 2024, the 36-year-old was found guilty of raping a girl under 13, sexually assaulting a girl under 13, and engaging in sexual intercourse with a female under the age of sixteen.

The court heard how Robert Norry sexually attacked the two girls from December 2020 to February 2022.

Detective Constable Cara Winfer of Telford’s Protecting Vulnerable People Team said, “I’d like to thank the victims and their families for their courage and bravery in telling the police what happened and cooperating with us throughout the investigation.”

“Robert Norry abused the girls’ trust, and they are now dealing with the trauma caused by his actions.”

“I hope that if anything, this shows the public that the police will always strive to get some form of justice, and this sentence encourages victims to come forward and speak with the police.”

In addition to receiving a nine-year prison sentence, Robert Norry will be added to the sex offenders register for life. He also received a 15-year restraining order and a 15-year sexual harm prevention order.
