In October 2026, a 29-year-old man from Leicester was sentenced to 22 months’ imprisonment at Leicester Crown Court after pleading guilty to 11 offences involving public sexual assault and indecent exposure.
Harmanjit Singh, of Clifton Road, Leicester, appeared for sentence on Monday 26 October 2026 having admitted eight counts of sexual assault on a female and three counts of exposure during a hearing on 24 September.
The prosecution outlined that Singh engaged in a persistent, two-month campaign of predatory behaviour across various residential and public streets in Leicester between October and December 2023.
The court heard the documented timeline of Singh’s offending:
2 October 2023 (Pocklingtons Walk): Touched a female victim inappropriately.
24 November 2023 (Western Boulevard, Grange Lane, Walnut Street, and St Martins): Carried out a series of offences touching multiple women inappropriately and exposing himself.
25 November 2023 (Friars Lane and Aylestone Road): Touched a woman inappropriately at Friars Lane and later exposed himself on Aylestone Road.
2 December 2023 (Hughenden Drive): Touched a woman inappropriately.
4 December 2023 (Knighton Lane East): Exposed himself in public.
5 December 2023 (Grasmere Street): Exposed himself to a female victim.
Multiple victims provided detailed physical descriptions to Leicestershire Police. Investigators circulated these details among partner agencies and local security networks. In December 2023, security staff identified and detained Singh, handing him over to responding police officers.
Following his arrest, detectives gathered witness statements and location data to link Singh to each of the reported offences across the city. Confronted with the evidence, Singh entered formal guilty pleas to all 11 charges on the indictment.
Passing sentence, the Crown Court judge addressed the predatory nature of targeting women in public streets, sentencing Singh to an immediate custodial term of 22 months’ imprisonment.
In addition to the custodial sentence, the court placed Singh on the Sex Offenders Register for a period of 10 years and imposed statutory protective orders.
