Martin McFetridge, aged 33, of Exeter, Devon, has walked free from Exeter Crown Court with a suspended prison sentence after admitting multiple offences involving the possession and distribution of child sexual abuse media.
The court heard that McFetridge, who maintains personal links to Peckham in South London and Buckinghamshire, pleaded guilty to a series of offences encompassing Category A, Category B, and Category C child abuse material.
Prosecutors detailed how the Category A footage—representing the most severe classification under UK law—depicted the sexual torture and rape of children.
Among the recovered digital media was a video recording showing the rape of a child believed to have been approximately two years of age.
Investigators established that McFetridge’s offending extended beyond passive possession.
He was found to have actively distributed child abuse photographs and videos across the internet, transmitting the illicit material to other offenders and facilitating its circulation.
The court was also informed of McFetridge’s previous criminal history, which includes past convictions for offences involving threats of violence, criminal damage, and drink-driving, as well as multiple documented breaches of court orders.
Appearing for sentence at Exeter Crown Court on 8 September, McFetridge received a 12-month prison sentence suspended for an operational period, accompanied by an order to complete unpaid community service.
The court also made him subject to the notification requirements of the Sex Offenders Register for a duration of 10 years.
