Ralph Fletcher, then aged 35, of Barclay Court, Ilkeston, Derbyshire, was sentenced to 24 years’ imprisonment (288 months) at Nottingham Crown Court on 20 August 2026 after being convicted of 14 sexual offences against three children.
The criminal investigation commenced after three children made disclosures regarding historical and sustained abuse to Derbyshire Police.
The court heard that Fletcher operated as the ringleader of the offending, carrying out serious sexual assaults that included rape, assault by penetration, and sexual touching.
Following a trial in May 2026, a jury at Nottingham Crown Court found Fletcher guilty of:
- 14 sexual offences, including rape, assault by penetration, and sexual touching
Sentencing Fletcher on 20 August 2026, the presiding judge imposed a custodial sentence of 24 years.
The court also made Fletcher subject to a lifetime Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO), ordered him to remain on the Sex Offenders Register for life, and issued lifetime restraining orders protecting all three victims.
Release Calculation: Under UK sentencing legislation governing serious sexual offences carrying long determinate sentences, Fletcher is required to serve two-thirds (192 months / 16 years) of his 24-year term in prison custody before becoming eligible for parole consideration. His earliest parole review date is August 2042, whereupon any release will remain subject to strict licence conditions and statutory community supervision until the expiration of the full 24-year term in August 2050.
