Saeed Salashoor, aged 31, of no fixed abode in Liverpool, has been sentenced to two years’ imprisonment at Liverpool Crown Court after following a 13-year-old schoolgirl and attempting to pay her £100 for sexual activity.
The incident took place on the afternoon of 25 June 2026 in the Edge Hill area of Liverpool. The court heard that the teenage victim was walking alone to visit a friend when Salashoor spotted her from across the road near Upper Parliament Street and Smithdown Road. Salashoor crossed over and began trailing the child, eventually following her into an area of grassland sheltered beneath trees.
Once isolated with the child, Salashoor began pestering her and made explicit sexual demands, repeatedly offering her £100 for half an hour of sexual activity. Demonstrating quick thinking and presence of mind, the 13-year-old produced her mobile phone and began recording the interaction. The footage captured Salashoor’s voice and his indecent proposition, which prompted him to retreat once he realised he was being filmed.
The victim immediately informed her family about the encounter. On the following day, the girl’s father spotted Salashoor in the neighbourhood, challenged him, and successfully detained him until Merseyside Police officers arrived at the scene to make a formal arrest.
When interviewed by detectives under caution, Salashoor initially claimed that the situation was a misunderstanding and alleged he had been set up. However, confronted with the video and audio evidence captured by the child, he conceded that his actions were completely unacceptable.
Appearing before Liverpool Crown Court on Tuesday, 25 August 2026, Salashoor pleaded guilty to:

The presiding judge sentenced Salashoor to a total custodial term of two years’ imprisonment. In addition to the prison sentence, the court made Salashoor subject to a 10-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) and ordered him to sign the Sex Offenders Register for a period of 10 years.
