John Robinson, aged 61, of the Walsall area, was sentenced to 26 years’ imprisonment at Birmingham Crown Court after being convicted of multiple CSA and CSAM offences committed against three teenage girls over a 23-year period.
The offences occurred between 2000 and 2023 while Robinson lived in the Walsall area. The court heard Robinson provided alcohol to three teenage girls before subjecting them to sexual abuse and recording footage capturing the attacks, retaining the files for more than 20 years.
West Midlands Police initiated an investigation after one of the victims reported the abuse as an adult. Safeguarding detectives from the force’s Rape and Serious Sexual Assault team located and spoke to two further victims after deploying facial ID software to examine the recovered video evidence.
When interviewed by police under caution, Robinson denied the allegations, laughed at the questions, and claimed the victims were untruthful.
Following a trial at Birmingham Crown Court, Robinson was convicted of:
- Rape of a child
- Gross indecency with a child
- Sexual activity with a child
- Taking indecent images of children
The judge handed Robinson a total custodial sentence of 26 years’ imprisonment.
