Liam Bunton, aged 35, of Ransom Avenue, Worcester, was sentenced to four years’ imprisonment at Worcester Crown Court on Friday, 21 August 2026, for non-recent sexual offences against a teenage girl.
The court heard that the offending began when Bunton initiated contact with the victim via Snapchat. The abuse was subsequently reported to West Mercia Police, prompting an investigation by safeguarding officers.
When interviewed under caution, Bunton answered no comment to all questions put to him by detectives before being charged.
Appearing before Worcester Crown Court, Bunton was convicted of:
Two counts of engaging in penetrative sexual activity with a child
The presiding judge handed Bunton a four-year custodial sentence for each offence to run concurrently. Bunton was also ordered to:
- Sign the Sex Offenders Register indefinitely
- Comply with a restraining order protecting the victim until 2038
- Pay a victim surcharge of £170
