Police in Wakefield have launched an urgent public appeal to locate 28-year-old Michael Connors, who is wanted on suspicion of rape following an offence committed in Normanton earlier in August 2026.
West Yorkshire Police confirmed that officers from the Wakefield District Safeguarding Unit have been carrying out extensive inquiries to locate and arrest Connors since identifying him as the primary suspect in the rape investigation.
Detectives have established that Connors has known links to the following areas:
- Normanton
- Warmfield
- Castleford
Officers noted that while Connors is known to frequent these locations, he may also have travelled further afield across the UK to evade arrest.
Anyone who has seen Michael Connors or has information regarding his current whereabouts is urged to contact the Wakefield District Safeguarding Unit via live online chat or by calling 101, quoting crime reference 13260437273. Any immediate or live sightings must be reported directly via 999. Anonymous reports can also be submitted to independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
