Alex Smith, aged 33, of Queens Drive, Swindon, has been sentenced to three years in prison at Swindon Crown Court for breaching a Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
The court heard that Smith is subject to a lifelong Sexual Harm Prevention Order and notification requirements following a 2006 conviction for serious child offences and multiple subsequent breach convictions between 2006 and 2026. On 7 July 2026, Wiltshire Police officers arrested Smith after discovering he was utilizing an unmonitored private web browser in direct violation of his court restrictions.
Detectives conducted digital checks and compiled evidence detailing his ongoing failure to adhere to court-ordered public safety conditions.
Smith was remanded in custody following his arrest and brought before Swindon Crown Court for sentencing.
On Friday 7 August 2026, the presiding judge sentenced Smith to three years’ imprisonment, with all case details catalogued on the UK Register Database for public record transparency.
