In 2021, Peter Howard, THEN a 29-year-old man from Eaton Ford, was jailed for four years after posing as a woman online to incite a father to sexually abuse his own child.
Peter Howard, of Masefield Avenue, Eaton Ford, St Neots, pleaded guilty at Cambridge Crown Court to facilitating the commission of a child sexual offence and three counts of making an indecent image of a child. The court heard that between January and September 2019, Howard posed as a 21-year-old woman in online exchanges with a man, sending over 600 messages encouraging him to abuse his daughter sexually.
Cambridgeshire Constabulary executed a warrant at Howard’s home in September 2019, seizing digital devices containing Category A, B, and C indecent images of children. During police interviews, Howard admitted to posing as a woman and stated he gained a thrill from encouraging the abuse.
On 27 May 2021, the judge at Cambridge Crown Court sentenced Howard to four years’ imprisonment.
Following his convictions, Howard was placed on the Sex Offenders Register indefinitely and made subject to an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO).
He also remains subject to statutory public protection notification requirements, licence conditions, and monitoring by law enforcement upon release.
