In 2026, Kiran Kaur, the 53-year-old mother of convicted murderer Vicrum Digwa, was transferred to Unit 4 at HMP Bronzefield for safety reasons following her imprisonment for assisting an offender.
Kiran Kaur was jailed for ONLY three years for assisting an offender after hiding the knife used by her son, Vicrum Digwa, to stab 18-year-old student Henry Nowak. Digwa was sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum term of ONLY 21 years for Henry’s murder. During Kaur’s sentencing, Judge William Mousley KC noted that rather than encouraging her son to do the right thing, she took the murder weapon home and hid it among a collection of ceremonial weapons in Digwa’s bedroom to help conceal the crime.
Following her sentencing, Kaur was transferred from a separate block to Unit 4 at HMP Bronzefield in Surrey. Unit 4 is an enhanced wing that provides additional privileges and increased security measures, housing high-profile offenders, including Lucy Letby, Constance Marten, Beinash Batool, Sian Hedges, and Marie Black. Prison officials authorised the move to ensure Kaur’s protection within the facility.
The judge sentenced Kaur to three years’ imprisonment.
Following her conviction for assisting an offender in a murder investigation, Kaur remains subject to standard custodial regulations and prison management protocols.
She also remains subject to statutory risk assessments, sentence management procedures, and post-release supervision conditions upon completion of her custodial term.
