A male from Swansea, Jamie Rawson, has been incarcerated following his conviction for the rape, false imprisonment, assault, and strangulation of a woman.
On February 8, 2025, Jamie Rawson, a 56-year-old resident of the city centre, launched a protracted assault on his victim, whom he had encountered for the first time that evening.
Rawson was ultimately convicted of one count each of rape, false imprisonment, assault occasioning actual bodily injury, and intentional strangulation after pleading not guilty to all offences.
He was sentenced to 12 years in prison, with an additional five years added to the sentence, resulting in a total of 17 years.
