In 2021, after being convicted of 21 distinct sexual and abuse offences against four children, Dennis Johnson, a paedophile, was sentenced to more than 20 years in prison.

After being convicted of offences such as rape, sexual assault, actual bodily injury, and witness intimidation, Dennis Johnson, of Manchester Road, Westhoughton, was sentenced to 22 years and six months of imprisonment at Bolton Crown Court.

He was also sentenced to an indefinite order to prevent sexual harm.

The court was informed that in September 2018, WMP received a report from social services indicating that a girl under the age of 13 had disclosed that Johnson had been sexually assaulting her.

Johnson’s abuse of two additional females between 1991 and 2004 was disclosed shortly thereafter.

This maltreatment commenced when both girls were under the age of ten and persisted until they were in their mid-teens.

Johnson subjected both girls to repeated sexual assaults. Additionally, he sexually assaulted one of the girls on numerous occasions.

Additionally, the court was informed that Johnson had sexually abused a fourth child, a boy, in the 1990s.
