In 2026, the Offender Register confirmed that Thomas Heard, a paedophile from Exeter who had been convicted on multiple occasions, had been incarcerated once more for the transmission of highly sexually explicit messages to minors via the internet.
Thomas Heard was prohibited from engaging in any form of interaction with minors due to the potential danger he represents.
However, he disregarded the limitations and participated in online conversations with children, during which he enthusiastically requested to see them in their pants.
A judge sentenced him to two years in prison and an additional year of probationary status, citing his lack of progress and the potential for harm.
The defendant, a 34-year-old resident of Guinness Lane in Exeter, pleaded guilty to two counts of engaging in sexual communication with children and three violations of a sexual harm prevention order that was established by Truro Crown Court in 2020.
In June 2025, they were informed of suspicious activity. Heard was employing Chatrandom to communicate with lads who were eleven years old.
He was conversing with teenagers on Snapchat one month later. He returned to Chatrandom in August, where he conducted video calls with additional children, requesting to see them naked and holding his penis in his shorts.
On August 21, he was apprehended. Heard was previously convicted of voyeurism in 2014 after being discovered gazing at boys beneath a changing room cubicle at a holiday complex.
He has been convicted of additional offences, including the most recent in 2022, for the possession and distribution of indecent images of children and for violating his orders.
