In 2026, the Offender Register confirmed that the proprietor of a bakery business in Plymouth, who frequently participates in car boot sales and events in the Devon and Cornwall regions, has been found guilty of possessing, selling, and disseminating images of child rape.
Kegan Carpenter, a resident of Hamilton Gardens in Plymouth, was granted a suspended sentence and was subsequently released from court.
The court was informed that Carpenter had thousands of indecent images of children, which encompassed all categories of indecency, including Category A, which depicted the rape and sexual torture of young boys.
Carpenter reportedly stated during his hearing that he had chosen to sell and disseminate the indecent images because his boyfriend recommended it as a viable method of earning money.
Presently, his companion is anticipating his sentencing.
Carpenter was sentenced to 32 months of imprisonment, which was subsequently suspended.
He was required to register as a sex offender for seven years and was issued a seven-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO).

Last June, the couple established JK’s Bakes, which they consider the only small bakery in the city currently owned by a man.
Currently, they operate from their home kitchen; however, they are in the process of acquiring a vintage food truck to travel throughout Plymouth and distribute their signature baked goods.
