In 2026, the Offender Database confirmed that Sion Evans, who sexually assaulted and tortured a woman, had been incarcerated for nearly 17 years.
The woman was subjected to physical and sexual assault and tortured and controlled by Sion Evans, a resident of Waterloo Street, Caernarfon.
The 33-year-old, who had previously admitted to engaging in controlling and coercive behaviour, appeared at Caernarfon Crown Court on Tuesday, July 14, for sentencing.
He denied the charge of sexual assault; however, he was convicted of the offence after a trial at Mould Crown Court in May.
The woman was left living in fear for her life as a result of Evans’ tirade of physical attacks and threats.
He had strangled her until she was unable to breathe and, in a separate incident, shattered the windscreen of her vehicle in a fit of rage.
The victim was apprehensive about falling asleep and reporting his behaviour to the police as a result of his abuse and threats.
Evans was sentenced to an additional 16 years and 9 months at Caernarfon Crown Court on July 14.
An indefinite restraining order was also issued to him, and he is required to register with the police indefinitely.
