In 2026, the Offender register reported that the following statement was issued by the United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS) in response to the sentencing of Camilo Campos-Hurtado, an illegal alien, who pleaded guilty to sexually exploiting children while employed as a football coach in Tennessee. The investigation was conducted by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI).
Camilo Campos-Hurtado, a criminal illegal alien from Mexico, was sentenced to 30 years in prison on July 2 after pleading guilty to the charges of sexually exploiting children, possessing fraudulent immigration and identification documents, and receiving child sexual abuse material (CSAM).
The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Tennessee initiated an investigation into Campos-Hurtado in 2023 after an individual discovered explicit videos on a mobile phone that Campos-Hurtado had left behind at a business in Franklin, Tennessee. The individual promptly notified the police.
Ultimately, the investigation, which HSI conducted with the support of the Franklin Police Department and the U.S. Marshals, revealed several years of juvenile sexual exploitation. Campus-Hurtado, who was employed as a football coach from 2017 to 2021, used drugs or alcohol to incapacitate his underage victims before sexually assaulting them and documenting the incidents. The forensic analysis of his electronic devices verified that he had been manufacturing CSAM since 2013.
