In 2026, the Offender Register reported that Christopher Buxey, a resident of Privett Place in Gosport, was present at Portsmouth Crown Court for a plea hearing.
The court was informed that on Thursday, June 4, a 13-year-old girl awoke in the early hours of the morning to find Buxey, a familiar figure to her family, standing over her bed, wearing a balaclava and holding cable ties.
Her parents were informed by her screams, and they promptly contacted the authorities.
Although Buxey assaulted the girl’s parents in an attempt to flee, he was held until officers arrived at the address shortly thereafter.
Buxey was apprehended and placed in police custody. He was subsequently charged with attempted kidnapping (common law), actual bodily injury, and knowingly or recklessly trespassing on premises with the intent to commit a relevant sexual offence. On June 6, he was remanded into custody after appearing at Brighton Magistrates’ Court.
He entered a plea of guilty to actual bodily injury and trespassing on premises with the intention of committing a relevant sexual offence during the Crown Court hearing on Monday. He denied the charge of attempted kidnapping but did confess to the charge of attempted false imprisonment, which the court upheld.
In connection with a separate investigation in Hampshire, Buxey also pleaded guilty to two counts of sexual assault of a child under 13, two counts of sexual assault of a child under 13 by penetration, two counts of taking indecent photographs of a child, and three counts of making indecent photographs of a child during the hearing.
He was remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear at Portsmouth Crown Court for sentencing on September 25.
