In 2022, the Offender Register reported that a nine-year sentence had been imposed on Lemech Baldeo, a sex offender and burglar, who attempted to rob a mother in her own home and subsequently sexually assaulted a female police officer who intervened.
After hurling plant pots at her home at 10 p.m., Lemech Baldeo, 35, barged into a woman’s property in Birmingham.
Baldeo forcibly pushed her back into the flat and demanded money, despite her valiant resistance.
On April 28, 2019, he struck her in the face, bit her, and began to tug at her clothing.
The terrified mother managed to escape and alert her neighbours, who then contacted the authorities.
Baldeo was arrested and handcuffed by two female officers who arrived at the scene in Stockland Green in a hurry.
However, as they escorted him from the flat, he became belligerent, stomped out and grabbed one of the officers between her thighs.
He was bundled into a police car by officers, where he racially abused them and headbutted one, resulting in a split lip.
Baldeo, a resident of Handsworth, confessed to robbery, sexual assault, criminal mischief, assault on an emergency worker, and racially aggravated assault.
At Birmingham Crown Court, he was sentenced to a total of nine years in prison and is required to sign the sex offenders register for a period of ten years.
