In 2026, the Offender Register reported that, following reports of inappropriate behaviour in Northampton, the police are urging potential victims to come forward.

Allegedly, the incidents occurred in the vicinity of the food vehicles in Market Square, Northampton, between Friday, May 1, and Tuesday, June 9.

A 59-year-old man has been apprehended on suspicion of two counts of sexual assault as part of an ongoing investigation. He has been granted conditional police parole while investigations are ongoing.

Currently, officers are eager to hear from anyone who believes they may have been a victim of similar conduct in the Market Square area during this period, or from anyone who may have witnessed anything that could assist the investigation and has not yet spoken to the police.

Anyone who witnessed any of the incidents or has any information is asked to contact Northamptonshire Police on 101. Alternatively, information can be provided anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
