Ali Namjo, 36, from Clase, Swansea, has been sentenced to 16 years for sexually assaulting a child.
After a trial at Cardiff Crown Court in March 2026, Namjo was found guilty while denying two counts of common assault and assaulting a child by penetration.
On Monday, June 29, he was sentenced at the same court.
The 16-year sentence consists of an additional one-year licence period after 15 years in jail.
For the remainder of his life, Namjo will also be a registered sexual offender.
In a Victim Impact Statement, the girl’s mother described the impact of Namjo’s offending on her and her daughter.
She said her world “had been shattered into a million pieces” and that her daughter had gone from being a “bubbly, outgoing, confident little girl to an absolute shell of herself”.
In a message to Namjo, the mum added: “I will not let you even ruin a second more of our lives. Even though this will stay with us for the rest of our lives, I am still going to build a wonderful life for my children.”
