After kidnapping and attempting to sexually abuse a woman in a car in North London, Tyrone Allert, the London Rapist, was imprisoned. Law enforcement has described 37-year-old Tyrone Allert as a “violent predator.”
On Sunday, July 24, 2022, at around 11:40 AM, the Metropolitan Police received a report of a man standing at the back of a white vehicle on Marsh Lane, Haringey, with his trousers down, and a woman inside the van yelling, “Help me.” According to an additional police report, Allert’s car struck six other cars on Warwick Road, N11, and was headed in the direction of a guy who had just escaped injury.
An ANPR tracker was installed on the vehicle, and many police units were notified. The victim was later discovered at an East London hospital. Police found that the woman had multiple injuries consistent with an assault. Luckily, they posed no threat to life.
On the same day, Tyrone Allert was arrested at his home on suspicion of kidnapping and violence. On July 26, he was arrested. He was charged with kidnapping, racially aggravated harassment, assault of emergency personnel, possession of an offensive weapon (a knife), attempted grievous bodily harm with intent, assault resulting in actual bodily harm, and hazardous driving.
The court was told that on July 24, 2022, the 28-year-old female victim was drinking with friends when Tyrone Allert gave her more alcohol after seeing she was drunk and drove her in the back of his van. After that, he made several stops in an attempt to have sex with the victim and try to force her to comply.
After being arrested, Tyrone Allert insulted an officer’s race and then attacked him, causing injuries that required medical attention. The officer has fully recovered, according to the Metropolitan Police.
The victim made it clear that she didn’t want to have sex.
According to Tyrone Allert, the victim had agreed to go into the van and have sex with him. But when investigators looked via his cell phone, they found recordings of him beating and verbally abusing the victim.
In the video, the victim was plainly heard stating that she didn’t want to have sex. At one point, she even declared, “This is rape.” She was also seen on the video trying to get out of the van, but Tyrone Allert kept pushing her back.
On Tuesday, April 9, 2024, Tyrone Allert appeared at Snaresbrook Crown Court and was given a 12-year prison sentence. Five years on an extended licence for false detention and attempted rape of a woman will follow this.
On November 14, 2023, he was found guilty in the same court of assault (ABH), racially aggravated harassment, attack on an emergency personnel, possession of an offensive weapon, and unsafe driving.
