A Metropolitan Police Rapist officer, Jake Cummings, from Hemel Hempstead, is scheduled to appear in court after an inquiry conducted by Hertfordshire Police.

PC Jake Cummings, who is assigned to the Central West Command Unit, is facing charges for two instances of rape, three instances of stalking, three instances of controlling and coercive behaviour, and three instances of voyeurism.

These charges pertain to three female victims.

Jake Cummings is scheduled to stand for trial at St Albans Crown Court on Monday, 2 September.

The Directorate of Professional Standards at the Met is cognisant of the situation, and PC Jake Cummings has been suspended from their duties.

UPDATE 17.07.25

Jake Cummings, the Stevenage Rapist, has been convicted today of raping a woman while serving as a Metropolitan Police officer.

Jake Cummings, 26, a former special constable in Dorset before to his employment in London, disputed the charge of rape but was convicted after a trial at St Albans Crown Court.

Jake Cummings, residing on Lytton Way in Stevenage, faced allegations of raping two women with whom he had relationships.

On Wednesday, jurors unanimously convicted him of raping one lady. A verdict regarding the second woman’s allegation has not yet been reached.

James Thacker KC, head of the prosecution team, stated during the trial that one lady reported being raped in 2021 and another in 2024.

Jake Cummings has been convicted of the 2024 offence. Jurors are scheduled to resume deliberations on the additional charge on Thursday.

One of the women stated that she was raped while still in a relationship with Jake Cummings. The other reported being raped shortly after the conclusion of their relationship.

Mr Thacker stated during the trial that the two women resided in distinct regions of the country and were unfamiliar with one another.

He stated that Jake Cummings had been apprehended at his mother’s residence in Weymouth, Dorset.

Jake Cummings refuted both rape allegations, asserting that the sexual encounter was consensual.

Campaspe Lloyd-Jacob’s attorney informed the jurors that they could not definitively ascertain his guilt of the charge of rape.

Miss Lloyd-Jacob stated that the issue was whether Jake Cummings “could not reasonably have believed” that the women were consenting.

Jurors have been informed that Jake Cummings has previously been convicted of other charges against the two women.

He was convicted of controlling and coercive actions in a prior trial and has acknowledged stalking.

Jurors in a previous trial were unable to reach verdicts on the rape accusations, leading to the convening of this trial.

Jake Cummings held the position of special constable in Dorset from April 2018 until becoming a regular officer with the Metropolitan Police in November 2019. He is no longer a member of the officer corps.

UPDATE 24.09.25

Jake Cummings, 26, from Hemel Hempstead, was jailed at St Albans Crown Court after being convicted in October 2024 of three charges of coercive controlling behaviour, two acts of voyeurism, and three counts of stalking.

During the trial, he was acquitted of one charge of voyeurism, and no verdict was reached regarding two charges of rape.

After a further retrial for the two rape charges in July 2025, Jake Cummings was convicted of two counts of rape.

Today, he received a concurrent sentence of 16 years, along with an extended licence period of two additional years.

Jake Cummings received a Sexual Harm Prevention Order and was prohibited from engaging in employment involving children.

We are sure it is no coincidence that his mugshot is of such poor quality and that he used to be a police officer.
