An unabashed sexual predator, Brian Walters Hull paedophile, exploited a woman who had made a light-hearted comment about her lack of success in romantic relationships and audaciously stated to her: “I can assist you in resolving that issue.”
Brian Walters, a sex offender who takes advantage of opportunities, swiftly seized the moment and committed rape against the woman. He callously informed her afterwards that they may “attempt another encounter” the next day, as reported by Hull Crown Court.
Brian Walters, a 67-year-old resident of Valentine Close and Anlaby Park Road South in Hull, pleaded not guilty to charges of rape and two counts of indecent assault. However, a jury found him guilty after a trial.
According to David Hall, the prosecutor, both the woman and Brian Walters were intoxicated during the rape incident that occurred on September 8, 2018.
Subsequently, she stated: “I consumed a significant amount of alcohol.” I was disoriented. I consumed cans of Foster’s lager. Collectively, we consumed close to 30 cans. I was barely able to remain upright.
While seated, Brian Walters informed her, “It has been a considerable amount of time since I engaged in sexual intercourse with a woman.” The woman made a humorous remark, saying, “I haven’t either,” to which Walters responded by offering assistance.
She recollected the subsequent event as Brian Walters engaging in sexual intercourse with her. “I cannot recall the circumstances that led to my state of nudity, but I was completely unclothed,” she stated. Her recollection of the events was hazy. “I was inebriated,” she said.
Brian Walters informed her, “Please return tomorrow, and we will make another attempt.” She subsequently stated: “I had no desire to engage in sexual activity with [him].” The woman subsequently informed a support officer about the incident. She displayed clear signs of distress at the time. The authorities were notified in September 2021.
According to the court, Brian Walters was imprisoned in 1979 for committing burglary. During his testimony, Walters, who was born in Hull, refuted any allegations of engaging in sexual behaviour with the woman.
“That is incorrect,” he asserted. “I did not do it.” I am confident. When questioned about whether he had sexually assaulted the woman, he denied the accusation, stating that it was utterly false. No, I have never done so.
The question posed to him was: “Are you being deceitful?” However, his response was a simple “No.” When asked why the woman would make such statements, he responded, “I have no idea.”
He acknowledged using alcohol at the time but said, “I had consumed some beer.” Fosters. I do not tally them. I consume them solely for their liquid content. He disputed the fact that there were not 30 cans in total between the two of them.
Brian Walters was questioned about if there was a mutual agreement between him and the other person regarding sexual activity. His response was a simple and direct “No.” She requested that I perform the task. I explicitly expressed my refusal by stating: ‘No’. I let her rely on her resources and make her own decisions.
After being released on bail during the trial, Walters was subsequently detained in custody following his conviction.
Charlotte Baines, who is representing Brian Walters, stated that he had experienced challenges while in detention. “He is experiencing difficulties in managing,” said Miss Baines. “There is no indication of any broader wrongdoing in this case.”
Judge Mark Bury informed Brian Walters that she discovered him engaging in sexual intercourse with her while she was awake. She explicitly refused. You were not deterred. She could not forcefully remove you.
“You exerted your entire body mass on her.” She was intoxicated. You had intoxicated her to the extent that she was unable to take care of herself. She experienced a strong sense of disgust and embarrassment. Your assertions before the jury were vehement.
Brian Walters received a prison sentence of 10 years and is required to register as a sex offender permanently.
