In 2026, the Offender Database reported that Jordan Longhurst, then 27, of Osborn Road, Fareham, was sentenced to ten years in prison at Portsmouth Crown Court. On Friday, 23 January 2026, Longhurst admitted to seventeen charges involving the grooming of children and the creation of “vile” indecent images.
The investigation by Hampshire Constabulary established that Longhurst used Snapchat to groom children and incite them to perform sexual acts, which he then recorded. He was initially arrested in October 2022 after reports connected him to uploading abuse material to the internet. While under investigation, he was arrested a second time in November 2024 for accessing further images.
Scale of Digital Material
Forensic examinations of Longhurst’s devices uncovered a vast quantity of “stomach-churning” material created over a ten-year period between 2014 and 2024. This included:
- Category A (Most Severe): 138 images created between 2014 and 2022, and a further five created in late 2024.
- Category B: 93 images created during the first period of offending and 13 during the second.
- Category C: 117 images from the first period and 22 from the second.
The court reported that Longhurst failed to appear for a hearing in November 2025, leading to a charge of failing to surrender to court. After his subsequent arrest, he changed his initial not-guilty pleas to guilty pleas.
Sentence and Registration Requirements
For his crimes in Fareham, Jordan Longhurst was:
- Sentenced to ten years in prison.
- Ordered to sign the Sex Offenders’ Register indefinitely.
- Handed a 15-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO).
The judge emphasised that Longhurst had been “persistent and deliberate” in his efforts to exploit children online. The SHPO will place strict, long-term conditions on his access to the internet and digital devices upon his eventual release.
Monitoring and Public Protection
Longhurst is managed under Multi-Agency Public Protection Arrangements (MAPPA) by Hampshire Constabulary. His status as a “dangerous” digital predator remains under “critical” scrutiny to ensure public safety.
As an indefinite member of the Sex Offenders Register, Longhurst must comply with notification requirements for the rest of his life. Hampshire Constabulary states that they will continue to target individuals who use social media platforms like Snapchat to harm children. Any breach of his SHPO or registration conditions will result in his immediate return to Portsmouth Crown Court.
