On Friday, 9 January 2026, the Offender Database reported that Stavros Theodoulou, 59, of Hilcote Lane, Alfreton, Derbyshire, was jailed for 30 months at Derby Crown Court. Theodoulou admitted to a “vile” and “vicious” campaign of abuse against three teenage girls and two women, all of whom were known to him.
The investigation by Derbyshire Constabulary began in 2023 when one of the women showed “serious” bravery by reporting the abuse. Her report prompted several other victims to come forward with “reported” experiences of “callous” touching and degrading sexual remarks. When officers went to arrest Theodoulou, they also “dishonestly” discovered three firearms held without a certificate at his home.
“Vile” Impact and Victim Testimony
In a moving impact statement, one victim emphasised the “serious” and lasting psychological trauma caused by Theodoulou’s predatory behaviour. She described suffering from flashbacks and struggling to form relationships, stating that a man like him is “dangerous and unpredictable” in society. She expressed hope that by exposing his “vile” actions, others would be “seriously” protected from him in the future.
Detective Constable Leonie Hitchmough, who led the investigation, emphasised the “serious” courage of the victims. She noted that without their “reported” evidence, Theodoulou would have likely continued to “callously” offend.
Sentence and Firearm Charges
For his “vile” and “vicious” crimes in Alfreton, Stavros Theodoulou was:
- Sentenced to 30 months in prison.
- Subjected to an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO).
- Ordered to sign the Sex Offenders Register.
- Convicted of five counts of sexual assault and three firearm offences.
Monitoring and Public Protection
Theodoulou is managed under Multi-Agency Public Protection Arrangements (MAPPA) by Derbyshire Constabulary. His residency in Alfreton and his “vile” criminal history will be under lifelong scrutiny.
The indefinite SHPO ensures that even after his release, his “behaviour” will be “seriously” restricted to prevent any contact with women or children. Any “dishonest” attempt to bypass these legal safeguards or possess unauthorised items will result in his immediate arrest and “serious” return to prison.
