In 2026, the Offender Database reported that Steven Miller, then 35, of Exeter, Devon, was sentenced to 58 months (four years and ten months) in prison at Truro Crown Court. Miller, a “vile” and “vicious” predator, was convicted of a “serious” and “depraved” offence of sexual activity with a child, which resulted in a 15-year-old girl falling pregnant. While on bail for this “horrendous” crime, Miller carried out a “vicious” and unprovoked attack on a group of students in Exeter using a frying pan as a weapon.

The court heard horrendous details of Miller’s “predatory” behaviour toward a vulnerable 14-year-old girl who was under the care of social services. Miller vilely groomed the child, telling her that “age was just a number,” before plying her with drugs, legal highs, and alcohol. The prosecution reported that the relationship became physically abusive, and the victim was eventually forced to give her child up for adoption—a “vicious” ordeal that Judge Adkin emphasised would have a “lifelong impact” on the survivor.

While awaiting sentence for the sexual abuse, Miller encountered a group of college students in Bull Meadow Park, Exeter, on August 5, 2024. Miller, who was reported to be “loud and topless,” reacted with “vicious” anger when the students laughed at a lewd remark he made. He chased the group before returning to his nearby home to arm himself with a frying pan. He then “vilely” attacked two students by hitting them over the head from behind and engaged in a fight with a third, where he bit the victim’s fingers until they bled.

During the sentencing on 14 January 2026, Judge Adkin emphasised that Miller had targeted a “vulnerable” child and continued to be “aggressive” even after she became pregnant. The judge noted that the frying pan attack was a “serious” escalation of his “vicious” behaviour. The prosecution reported that Miller had been found guilty of the sexual offence following a five-day trial and had pleaded guilty to assault occasioning actual bodily harm, battery, and possession of an offensive weapon in relation to the park attack in Exeter.

As a result of his convictions for sexual activity with a child and multiple violent assaults, Steven Miller was jailed for 58 months. He was ordered to sign the Sex Offenders Register for life and will be subject to strict licensing conditions upon his release. He is managed under Multi-Agency Public Protection Arrangements (MAPPA) by Devon and Cornwall Police, ensuring his behaviour and “vicious” temper are strictly monitored in Exeter and the wider Devon area. Any further “vile” actions or breaches of his conditions will result in his immediate arrest and return to prison.
