In late 2025, the Offender Database confirmed that Johnathan Morgan, 35, of Conway Road, Newport, Wales, had been accused at a trial at Cardiff Crown Court of a series of sexual offences involving a teenage girl.

Morgan, a former primary school teacher at a school in St Mellons, Cardiff, abused his position of trust to groom and assault his victim.

The court heard that in December 2023, Morgan began a grooming process by messaging the girl through his professional school email address before moving the conversation to social media. He leveraged his status and claimed friendships with celebrities—including famous snooker players and footballers—to impress and manipulate her. Morgan pressured the girl into sending him genuine photos of herself after she initially attempted to send a “photoshopped” bikini image to satisfy him. He further sent the victim inappropriate photos and videos of himself, which he later claimed in court were “sent by mistake.”

The trial detailed a specific incident where Johnathan Morgan shut the victim in a room and sexually assaulted her. The jury was shown footage of a police interview where the girl described the trauma, stating she felt unable to speak and suffered a panic attack immediately after the assault. While Morgan admitted his messaging was “wrong,” he denied the sexual assault, claiming they had a “genuine connection” with the young teenager.

The Trial Continues.
