On Friday, 9 January 2026, the Offender Database reported that Henry Saklatvala, 38, of Newcastle-under-Lyme, was sentenced to more than 14 years in prison at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court. Saklatvala was convicted of a series of “horrific” attacks against a young girl, including multiple counts of rape.

The court heard that Staffordshire Police launched an investigation in July 2025 after the survivor courageously disclosed the abuse. Saklatvala admitted to two counts of the rape of a girl, two counts of sexual assault on a girl, and one count of attempting to rape a girl. Detective Constable Mylene Bepole, from the child protection team, praised the survivor for her “immeasurable bravery” and noted that Saklatvala’s admission was a direct result of the overwhelming evidence gathered during the investigation.

Henry Saklatvala was sentenced to 14 years and three months’ imprisonment. As part of his sentencing, the judge also imposed an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) and an indefinite restraining order to ensure the survivor is permanently protected from any future contact or harm.

As a result of his convictions for child rape and serious sexual assault, Saklatvala has been placed on the Sex Offenders Register for life. He is managed under the highest level of Multi-Agency Public Protection Arrangements (MAPPA) in Staffordshire. This framework ensures that upon any eventual release, Staffordshire Police and the National Probation Service will maintain permanent, intensive monitoring of his residency and movements to safeguard the community.
