In 2017, the Offender Database reported that Stuart Penny, then 52, of Pinewood Close, Salisbury, Wiltshire, was sentenced at Salisbury Crown Court.

Stuart Penny was jailed for seven years and two months after pleading guilty to a string of sexual offences against a 13-year-old girl. The court heard that the abuse took place over five months between December 2015 and April 2016. Stuart Penny targeted the young victim using manipulative and controlling tactics to facilitate his predatory behaviour.

The charges against Stuart Penny included two counts of sexual activity with a child under 16, inciting a child aged between 13 and 15 to view images of sexual activity, and inciting a child under the age of 16 to engage in sexual activity. Additionally, he was convicted of possessing extreme pornographic images, which were discovered during the police investigation into his conduct.

During the sentencing in December 2017, the court highlighted the significant harm caused to the victim, whose identity remains protected by law. The judge noted that Stuart Penny’s actions were deliberate and calculated, involving multiple forms of sexual exploitation of a vulnerable minor.

In addition to his custodial sentence of seven years and two months, Stuart Penny was ordered to register as a sex offender for life. He was also made subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) to strictly monitor his behaviour and restrict his access to children following his eventual release from prison.
