Duncan Evans, 46, of Caradoc View, Hanwood, near Shrewsbury, Shropshire, was sentenced at Shrewsbury Crown Court after admitting to four offences and informing probation officers of his sexual attraction to minors.
Duncan Evans confessed to three charges of producing indecent photos of children in categories A, B, and C, along with possession of severe pornographic materials.
Shehraz Hussain, for the prosecution, stated that Duncan Evans was observed by patrons examining what seemed to be photos of child exploitation in a smoking area of a pub.
The court was informed of a disruption as customers confronted Duncan Evans regarding his behaviour, prompting an intervention by a barwoman.
Mr Hussain stated that the staff member had insisted that Duncan Evans relinquish his telephone, although he was observed rapidly hitting buttons in a state of fear.
Upon receiving the phone, she insisted that he unlock the device, revealing that it was displaying the ‘deleted things’ screen.
The court was informed that the phone included folders organised by age, and the pub worker saw an image of an infant, estimated to be between zero and three months old, being raped.
