The Offender Database reported that, in 2018, Steven Halliwell, the Greater Manchester Police Paedophile, who worked in the High Tech Crime Unit in Bolton, had confessed to downloading photos of child sexual abuse.

Steven Halliwell, aged 43, was scheduled to stand trial yesterday but altered his plea to guilty to four charges of producing indecent images across all three severity levels, encompassing a total of 314 indecent photographs.

Steven Halliwell of Lee Avenue, Great Lever, Bolton, had already confessed to stealing three Apple laptops, 15 iPhones, two iPad minis, and three Samsung mobile phones, which were taken between July 21, 2011, and February 9, 2016, with a total value of £4,804, all belonging to the Greater Manchester Police.

The defendant, who resigned from the force in May following a suspension, has disputed 11 more accusations of obscene images, which will be dismissed.

His attorney, Michael Brady, informed Liverpool Crown Court that Steven Halliwell, a father of two, “denies any sexual interest in children” but acknowledges that he inadvertently produced the photographs when formatting a hard drive. [LOL GOOD ONE].

Steven Halliwell was incarcerated for a duration of 12 months.
