In 2022, Mohammed Tarik, the Southwark Rapist and British Guest Sex Offender, was incarcerated for over 20 years following the assault of two women.

Mohammed Tarik, 21, of St Stephens Crescent, received a sentence of 20 and a half years at Southwark Crown Court on July 8.

Mohammed Tarik earlier entered a guilty plea at the same court in February to three charges of rape, two charges of actual bodily injury, and one charge of robbery.

Detective Inspector Ian Kenward, the lead investigator, stated: “Mohammed Tarik is evidently a perilous criminal who presented a substantial threat to women.” I am gratified that our inquiry will result in his substantial incarceration.

On November 11, 2019, Mohammed Tarik approached a woman near St Thomas’ Hospital in Lambeth. He pursued the woman, in her forties, before subsequently assaulting and violating her.

He departed the location, and investigators subsequently collected forensic samples; however, no DNA match was identified.

On October 30, 2021, law enforcement responded to an incident involving a woman who was forcibly pulled into an alley and assaulted on the Hallfield Estate in proximity to Paddington.

An individual from the public challenged him during the assault and notified the police. She sustained minor injuries, and a DNA sample from Mohammed Tarik was obtained, linking him to the rape in Lambeth two years earlier.
