In 2022, Karl Kennett, the Canterbury Paedophile, perpetrated a sexual assault on a primary school-aged child at a location in the Canterbury region in 2020.
The victim subsequently informed his parents about the event, prompting them to contact Kent Police.
Officers were subsequently informed of distinct, prior offences involving another victim, who was of a comparable age to the initial victim at the time the incidents occurred.
Karl Kennett refuted the allegations but was found guilty of sexual assault against a minor and two charges of inducing a juvenile to participate in sexual behaviour after a trial at Canterbury Crown Court.
The 28-year-old from Canterbury, Karl Kennett, was sentenced to seven years in prison on Tuesday, 9 August 2022, and mandated to serve an additional three years on license post-release.
Karl Kennett was subjected to a 12-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order intended to avert any future offences.
The initial incidents occurred over six years ago in the Canterbury region.
The second victim was subsequently sexually assaulted at a different location within the district in 2020.
Karl Kennett was apprehended in April of that year, one week after the initial complaint of the charges.
