In 2022, Merseyside officers reported that Stephen McLoughlin, the Kirkby Paedophile, was hospitalised following his detention by officers on St Chad’s Drive in Kirkby at approximately 5 pm on Friday, right outside Kirkby Police Station, after he inflicted a stab wound to his neck.
The police confirmed the arrest of a 55-year-old man, Stephen McLoughlin, from Kirkby, on charges of child grooming involving a minor under 14 and possession of a bladed weapon.
Subsequent to the event, an extensive cordon was established, and today, Tuesday, August 30, 2022, Merseyside Police has stated that Stephen McLoughlin, residing on Pitsmead Road, Kirkby, has been charged with:
- Attempt to engage in sexual communication with a child
- Attempt to incite a girl under 13 to engage in sexual activity
- Attempt to engage in sexual communication with a child
- Attempt to incite a girl aged 13 – 15 to engage in sexual activity
- Possession of a bladed article
Stephen McLoughlin was remanded into custody to appear at court.
