Alfie Rowbotham, the King’s Lynn Rapist, convicted of rape, has received an augmented sentence thanks to a member of the public taking the time to appeal against the length of his sentence, which takes less than 5 minutes.

Alfie Rowbotham, 27, of Walpole Road, King’s Lynn, has had his sentence augmented to eight and a half years for the rape of a lady.

In June 2025, he appeared at King’s Lynn Crown Court, where he was initially sentenced to five and a half years after being convicted following an eight-day trial in March 2025.

The punishment pertains to an event that occurred on 19 September 2024, during which a woman was returning home in the early morning hours after a night out in King’s Lynn.

Alfie Rowbotham, while walking his dog, approached the woman.

Alfie Rowbotham assaulted the woman, kissing and groping her before dragging her into an alleyway and raping her.

The victim escaped the scene and sought assistance at a neighbouring cab office, where the personnel aided her and contacted the police.

Officers promptly identified Alfie Rowbotham via CCTV investigations and apprehended him on the same day. He was indicted and placed in jail.

Prosecutors from the CPS East of England Area contested his initial sentence for being excessively lenient, resulting in an enhancement of three years following a hearing on 14 October 2025.
