In 2022, Stuart Merry, the Peterborough Paedophile, was incarcerated for violating a stringent court order by possessing a book on child abuse.

Stuart Merry, 43, from Peterborough, was unexpectedly visited by police detectives in September, who discovered a book about a youngster experiencing sexual abuse beside his bed.

Stuart Merry acknowledged that he should not have possessed the book and asserted his intention to return it.

The book violated a stipulation of Stuart Merry’s Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO), which prohibited him from possessing, purchasing, or reading any material associated with child sexual abuse.

He received his Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) after two convictions for outraging public decency in November 2001, indecent assault on a child under 14 in January 2010, and gross indecency with a minor, also in January 2010.

At Cambridge Crown Court, Stuart Merry, residing on Nursery Close in Peterborough, was sentenced to 16 months in prison for violating his Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO).

Police Constable Zoe Rogers stated: “Stuart Merry is a high-risk sexual offender who was aware of the stipulations of his Sexual Harm Prevention Order, yet opted to violate a portion of it.”

“We will not condone egregious violations of court orders such as this, so I am pleased that Stuart Merry has been held accountable.”
