In 2023, Sidney Cooke, the 98-year-old paedophile child killer and Britain’s oldest prisoner, was interrogated following accusations from a black inmate that said Cooke had thrown a chemical at him while making threats.

Detectives interviewed him in prison following the Sun’s publication of the first image of the perpetrator in 26 years, when it was said that he gestured towards a known black police informant and shouted insults during a confrontation on a landing.

The episode occurred prior to Sidney Cooke, said to be implicated in as many as 20 child killings, being violently struck to the ground with a beverage flask in a brutal retaliation assault.

A source stated: “Sidney Cooke was interrogated in prison but refuted allegations of throwing the substance at the inmate, who sustained no significant injuries.”

“They were compelled to interrogate him after the prisoner lodged a complaint with a jail guard, who was obligated to notify the police.”

“Sidney Cooke remains quite astute despite his age; he recalled the incident and recounted a divergent narrative regarding their disagreement.”

“However, it appeared absurd to certain individuals that they were conducting an interview with a 98-year-old regarding a prison incident.”

“He is currently incarcerated and unlikely to be released.”

He was informed that he would not face any further action and that there was insufficient evidence against him.

The assault on him, during which he was struck to the ground and believed to be connected to the initial dispute, is under further investigation.

Sidney Cooke was a member of a paedophile ring convicted for the 1985 murder of the abducted Jason Swift, aged 14, in East London.

He was subsequently identified in court as being implicated in more child abductions and homicides, having collaborated with a group of paedophiles known as the ‘Dirty Dozen.’

Sidney Cooke, incarcerated in 1989 for the manslaughter of Jason, was released in 1998 amidst public outcry and subsequently entered voluntary prison for his own safety.

In 1999, he was sentenced to life imprisonment for the sexual abuse of two brothers during the 1970s.

During his most recent parole denial in May 2023, Sidney Cooke was evaluated as posing a significant risk of serious damage to the public.

The Parole Board has stated that decisions are exclusively centred on the potential harm a prisoner may pose to the public upon release.

West Yorkshire Police has been notified and is currently researching Sidney Cooke using their headquarters computer.

The Ministry of Justice refused to provide a statement.

In April 2027, Sidney Cooke is expected to receive a letter from King Charles on his 100th birthday. A testament to British Justice.
