Back in 2016, John Fielding, the Andover Paedophile, was incarcerated for nearly five years for secretly recording small children in an Andover supermarket.

John Fielding admitted guilt to many sexual offences during his appearance at Bristol Crown Court on Friday, July 22.

A 46-year-old resident of Old Winton Road received a sentence of four years and ten months in jail.

He admitted to four counts of outraging public decency, six counts of producing indecent photographs/pseudo-photographs of a child, two counts of possessing a forbidden image of a child, two counts of possessing extreme pornography, and three counts of violating a Sexual Offences Prevention Order.

The court was informed that John Fielding’s misconduct was revealed on Friday, May 27, when he was approached by a customer at the Lidl store on Western Avenue.

The customer grew wary of John Fielding’s conduct in the store and, with assistance from other patrons, apprehended him until the police arrived.

A camera pen was discovered in John Fielding’s luggage.

The court was informed that during the ensuing investigation, officers from Hampshire Constabulary’s Northern Investigations unit uncovered films that John Fielding had surreptitiously recorded of children and adolescents in public locations throughout the South and South West of England using a camera pen or GoPro camera.

Officers discovered thousands of indecent photographs of children that John Fielding had downloaded on his computer from the internet since Friday, January 29.

In addition to a sentence of four years and ten months of incarceration, John Fielding was issued a sexual harm prevention order, effective until further notice.

He was additionally registered as a sexual offender, pending further directives.

PC Stephen Court, the investigating officer, stated: John Fielding is a cunning individual who employed surreptitious techniques to record children in public areas.

This offence was revealed because of the acts and courage of an observant member of the public who noticed Fielding behaving suspiciously at the Andover Lidl shop on May 27.

I wish to formally express my gratitude to this customer and the other members of the public who exhibited courage and composure in restraining John Fielding in the store until the authorities arrived.

This inquiry and ensuing penalty underscore our commitment to addressing the actions exhibited by John Fielding with utmost seriousness, as we endeavour to hold such perpetrators accountable.
