Ionel-Alexandru Paicu, the Nottinghamshire Rapist, 25 years old, assaulted the woman and menaced her with a knife prior to sexually assaulting her in the early hours of New Year’s Day 2025 at a location in Nottinghamshire.
The woman informed a family member about the assault and subsequently summoned the guts to report the incident to the police.
She received assistance from specially qualified officers, and detectives initiated an inquiry into Ionel-Alexandru Paicu.
He refuted the allegation of raping the victim but was convicted after a trial at Nottingham Crown Court on 11 August 2025.
On Tuesday, September 30, Ionel-Alexandru Paicu was sentenced to a total of 15 years in prison at the same court.
Ionel-Alexandru Paicu was found guilty of two charges of rape, attempted sexual assault, assault resulting in actual bodily harm, and making threats with a dangerous weapon.
