An Abergavenny paedophile, William Chiplin, repeatedly sexually assaulted a young child before raping her.
William Chiplin, a 21-year-old from Abergavenny, assaulted a child under the age of 13 on several occasions, including one incident in which he abused her as she grasped a unicorn toy, as shown in Newport Crown Court.
Judge Hughes sentenced an incarceration period of six years and three months.
William Chiplin will complete two-thirds of the sentence in confinement before being released on parole.
He is required to register as a sexual offender eternally and is subject to a restraining order for the protection of the victim.
