A registered Cleveland Paedophile sex offender, Dominic O’Flanagan, apprehended for deleting evidence during an unannounced inspection by our specialised squad has been incarcerated.

On June 7, 2022, officers from the Sex Offenders Management Unit (SOMU) conducted a visit to Dominic O’Flanagan, 44, to ensure compliance with his Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO).

The Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) was instituted following his conviction for multiple offences, including those associated with child abuse material and breaches of the SHPO.

During the visit, Dominic O’Flanagan’s computer was examined, and detectives discovered a system that was deleting files. His computer and two external hard drives were then confiscated.

The Digital Forensic Unit of the Cleveland Police conducted an analysis that resulted in the discovery of illicit photos of children and indications of file deletion software in use.

He was apprehended and indicted for violating his Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) and for possessing an illicit image of a minor, resulting in an eight-month prison sentence on Thursday, August 12th.

Dominic O’Flanagan was placed under a seven-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order, which entails oversight by Cleveland’s specialised Management of Sexual or Violent Offenders Officers.
