A Gildersome Paedophile Child Molesters, Bernard Joyce, who perpetrated a series of sexual abuses on two young boys over several years has been incarcerated following an investigation by specialised safeguarding officers in Leeds.
Bernard Joyce, 50, of Gelderd Road, Gildersome, consistently exploited his victims over the 1990s, commencing in his early teenage years.
The boys emerged in 2022 as adults to reveal the abuse after informing family members.
Officers from the Leeds District Safeguarding Unit initiated an investigation, during which both victims provided comprehensive testimonies in video-recorded interviews as part of thorough efforts to gather all relevant evidence.
Bernard Joyce was apprehended and subsequently indicted after consultation with the Force’s specialised Rape and Serious Sexual Offences (RASSO) officers and considerable coordination with the Crown Prosecution Service.
He faced 17 charges against both victims, encompassing indecent assaults and gross indecency, and was convicted of 15 counts during a trial that completed in May of this year.
Today, Bernard Joyce received a six-year term at Leeds Crown Court. He was also issued a Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
