Robert Lawrie, a Lochyside sex offender from Fort William, who sexually assaulted three minors, has evaded incarceration.
Robert Lawrie was found guilty of sexual assaults, indecent communication, voyeurism, and sexual exposure after a trial at Inverness Sheriff Court.
During today’s sentencing hearing, a sheriff said that it was “alarming” that he did not acknowledge the criminality of his actions.
The allegations specify that Robert Lawrie, 38, assaulted a girl by hitting her on the buttocks, making remarks about her physique, and posing intimate enquiries.
Sheriff MacDonald imposed a community payback order on Robert Lawrie, mandating 300 hours of unpaid community service, the maximum permissible, and required his supervision by social work for a duration of two years.
Sheriff MacDonald issued non-harassment orders prohibiting Robert Lawrie, of Lochyside, Fort William, from contacting his victims, with two of the orders lasting five years.
