Keith Wilson, the Waverton Paedophile, has avoided incarceration after being discovered in possession of numerous indecent movies featuring children. Law enforcement raided his residence and confiscated gadgets holding the material.

Mould Crown Court was informed that Keith Wilson’s footage depicted victims between the ages of seven and fourteen. A judge today sentenced the 66-year-old to nine months in prison for producing indecent photos classified as category A, but postponed the term for two years.

Prosecutor Amy Edwards stated that North Wales Police had information regarding a Google account associated with the defendant, Keith Wilson. On October 19, 2022, indecent material was uploaded to the account. Register here for the most recent court narratives.

Ms. Edwards stated that the police subsequently visited Keith Wilson’s caravan at Llanaber, near Barmouth, where he resided with his spouse, and confiscated a hard drive, laptop, and mobile phone. They discovered 48 category A films and nine category B films on the hard drive.

The laptop contained one category A film and two category B films. A solitary category C photograph was present on the mobile phone.

Ms Edwards said 42 of the films indicated a sexual interest in children. She said Keith Wilson told police he had obtained the material “many years ago but not deleted it”.

He also told police he had been “banned from Facebook for making inappropriate jokes” and that “there may be 15 indecent images from gay porn chat rooms” on his devices.

Andrew Jebb, defending, said he could see where offending has taken place over a period of time that a proposed sexual harm prevention order (SHPO) would be necessary.

The judge The Recorder Paul Lewis KC gave retired Keith Wilson, now of Long Lane, Waverton, Chester, the nine-month jail term for making indecent images of children in category A, a 30-week jail term for the same offence in category B and a one-week jail term for the same offence in category C, with the terms running concurrently. All sentences were suspended for two years.

He also ordered Keith Wilson to attend up to 25 days of rehabilitation activity. He made him subject to a ten-year SHPO to control his use of the internet and he must register as a sex offender for ten years.
