A New Jersey Pedophile, Derek McDonough, who concealed over 2 million photographs of child sexual assault on devices hidden inside his washer and dryer has been sentenced to over twenty years in prison.

Derek McDonough received a 25-year term in state prison earlier this month, as stated in a joint news statement by Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Plainsboro Township Police Chief Eamon Blanchard on Monday. Derek McDonough will not qualify for parole for a minimum of 12 years and must register as a sex offender in accordance with Megan’s Law [LIKE SARAH’S LAW BUT ISN’T POLICED BY THE POLICE AND ACTUALLY WORKS].

More than a year has elapsed since Derek McDonough was convicted by a jury of first-degree possession of child pornography and fourth-degree tampering with evidence, as reported by NJ Advance Media. The accusations stemmed from an investigation initiated in 2022, prompted by a cyber tip from the National Centre for Missing and Exploited Children.

On September 1 of that year, officers from the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office and the Plainsboro Township Police Department executed a search warrant at Derek McDonough’s residence in Plainsboro. They proceeded to confiscate several items — including a laptop, mobile phone, and external hard drives — all concealed in his laundry room. Officials reported that a forensic investigation uncovered millions of illegal photos and videos of child sexual abuse.
