Verphy Kudi Brighton Child Killer

Verphy Kudi child killer - child torture - baby torture

Verphy Kudi, the Brighton Child Killer, was found to have left her baby alone 12 times before she finally left the baby to starve to death. Social services and the police were both aware that she was prone to leaving her child alone for extended periods but did nothing to save the child.

Verphy Kudi decided to attend her 18th birthday celebration and leave her baby starving. Her birthday celebrations took six days, and afterwards, Kudi returned to her dead baby.

Even though Verphy Kudi then sat with her dead baby in her Brighton YMCA flat for an additional 3 hours before calling the police and trying to cover up her crime, she was not charged with murder.

Verphy Kudi admitted manslaughter and was jailed for only nine years after a court heard her daughter learned nobody would come when she cried.

Asiah Kudi was taken to Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital in Brighton, where she was pronounced dead on December 11, 2019.

It was speculated that the baby would have lived for most of the six days and starved slowly to death in crippling pain.

In a statement, Asiah and Verphy’s family said following her sentencing, “As a family, we are in the midst of an unbearable tragedy. Not only are we coming to terms with what has happened today, but we are also still grieving for our beloved Asiah.”

It is unclear why the family did not become more involved after Verphy Kudi left her baby alone 12 times previously and was unaware that Verphy Kudi was spending six days away from the baby’s home.

As there was no minimum time given at her sentencing, Verphy Kudi will be out of prison very soon and will get pregnant at a location near you soon!
