A convicted sex offender, Jake Booth Tonbridge Paedophile, prohibited from interacting with minors encountered a teenage girl online and subsequently resided in her household.
Jake Booth, a resident of Tonbridge, established an online chat group for motorbike aficionados and utilised the platform to initiate contact with the minor.
Their discussions transitioned to Snapchat prior to Booth organising a meeting with the girl and her parents.
Jake Booth earned the trust of her family, and after persuading them that they were merely close friends, he was permitted to reside in their home.
The family was unaware that Jake Booth was under a sexual harm prevention order due to his convictions for creating obscene photos of youngsters.
The court issued the order in 2022, which is valid for a length of 10 years.
It encompassed stringent steps to safeguard children, prohibiting him from engaging in any unsupervised contact or conversation with individuals under the age of 16.
Jake Booth, 22, of Pembury Grove, Tonbridge, was apprehended on 11 April 2024, after cops discovered him in the child’s bed.
He faced 14 charges pertaining to violations of a sexual harm prevention order and sex offender notification obligations.
Jake Booth entered a guilty plea at Maidstone Crown Court and was sentenced to three years’ imprisonment on 31 January 2025.
Leading the investigation was PC Lorny Booth who said:
‘Jake Booth effectively groomed this child and then exploited her family’s trust, whilst he sought to evade the many strict measures designed to prevent him from reoffending.’Whilst there is no evidence in this case to directly connect Booth to any sexual abuse offences, the prison sentence passed by the courts demonstrates that he is a manipulative and predatory offender who poses a clear threat to children.’
