Abdul Hamed, the Swindon Rapist, has been sentenced to six years and eight months in prison for raping a lady twice in her residence in Swindon.
Abdul Hamed, 35, homeless, was sentenced at Swindon Crown Court on Thursday, December 5th.
In the early hours of June 18 of this year, Abdul Hamed, acquainted with the victim, unlawfully entered her residence and perpetrated rape on two occasions while her children were present.
The event was reported to the police the next day, and Abdul Hamed was subsequently detained. He entered a plea of not guilty to the charges but was unanimously convicted after a six-day jury trial.
DC Ashleigh Moran of Swindon CID said: “This was a traumatic incident for the victim and I want to thank her and commend her for her incredible bravery that she’s shown throughout this process.
“Abdul Hamed entered her home through a window in the middle of the night, significantly breaching her sense of safety and privacy in the one place that she should have felt safest.
“He has then subjected her to a horrendous ordeal while her children were in the house.
“He has shown no remorse throughout this investigation and now faces several years behind bars for his actions.
“I hope this sentencing will bring an element of closure for the victim and she can start to move forward with her life.”
